How to make it
Ingredients:
700g of beef chuck, cubed small
6 baby potatoes, peeled and halved
1 carrot, peeled and cubed
1 large onion, chopped
3 bay leaves
2 tbsp ground Paprika
1 tbsp garlic salt
1 tbsp flour
Method:
In a pot, add olive oil and brown your beef. While it browns, add the paprika and garlic salt. Allow it to brown thoroughly before adding the chopped onions. Cook till the onions are soft. Time to add the flour. Give it a good mix and then add water (about 1.5 cups). Bring it to a simmer, add the bay leaves, close the pot and let it cook slowly for about 1.5-2 hours.
After 2 hours, check the meat. It should be tender (if it’s not, let it cook till the meat is soft). Now, add the carrots and potatoes. Season to taste.
Continue to simmer till vegetables are cooked. Serve the dish with warm buttered bread, rice or pasta. You could also put them in ramekins and make mini beef pot pies (just top the ramekins with frozen puff pastry and bake them in the oven)
